Hot Water Beach

There is an underground river that flows to the surface of the Pacific Ocean at Hot Water Beach that is located on the Coromandel Peninsula. Two hours either side of low tide you can dig away at the beach to find hot water bubbling up through the golden sand. It is best to visit Hot Water Beach within two hours either side of low tide.

We however were here at high tide but we could feel the heat in the sand and enjoyed walking along this shore. Yes, the sky is this blue. Yes, the sand is that golden and the water that clear green.

Kauri Trees

"Kauri are among the world's mightiest trees, growing to over 50 meters [164 feet] tall, with trunk girths up to 16 meters [53 feet], and living for over 2,000 years". Read more on the New Zealand Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai website. Click HERE

Rats, stoats, and possums are all pests in New Zealand

Simply amazing! Everything in the forest was talking to everything else, and it even felt like the trees were speaking to us through the wooden boardwalk.  Plus we were the only ones there adding to the experience among these giants.

Pure joy!
