Whispers in the Trees

The fabulous photo credit  goes to ~ Christine
Whispers in the Trees

Hush now little ones, be still, be quiet for the trees have something to say. They will tell you all that the wind carries past on this blustery spring day. Whispers of sunshine and tulips in bloom rustle over the ears of those who will listen. For soon May will shine and to all our delight the trees will be singing a new tune.

Hey there cutie! How you doing?

Next time we hike Flattop in the winter we will be sure to have hiking spikes on our boots so we can hike to the top.  We cannot wait to hike Flattop this summer with our dear friends and their girls.

When Packing...

When packing up your belongings to move to a new home, to a new town or perhaps across country, it might be good to remember just how long your old boxes from the last time you moved (17 years ago) have been sitting there unpacked. 1994 was the date on the newspaper, now granted I think I might have used old newspaper but I am fairly certain that box had been packed since fall 1996. GRRR… and I thought I was so good at practicing the less is more program and keeping stuff to a minimum.

Packing = good times!

Hike Flattop

My photo from our hike up Flattop on Sunday April 6, 2014

Flattop Mountain is a 3,510-foot (1,070 m) mountain, located in Chugach State Park just east of urban Anchorage. It is the most climbed mountain in the state.

Flattop is known for its panoramic views of Anchorage and the surrounding area; Denali, Mount Foraker, and Mount Spurr are sometimes visible on very clear days.

 Original can be found HERE!

What do you girls think... you in?
We are looking forward to showing you around your neck of the woods.

High Five Friday for Painting Projects

Our new home now has a bit of color that matches our old home.  It is a comfortable feeling to bring the same paint colors with you to make the big move to the big town less scary!

High five Friday for adding a bit of color!  Happy Friday friends!

P.S. wearing the same color shirt as the color I was painting on the wall was a total fluke and a sign that it was all meant to be!

Whittier & 26 Glacier Cruise

Photo credit goes to the interwebs.

The drive to Whittier is a fabulous one, well most places in Alaska you drive are fabulous except maybe that one stretch of road south of Delta it is a bit bland but only for a mile or two.

For day two of our Alaska family vacation we will drive along Turnagain Arm from Anchorage to Whittier via the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel. Check out the web site HERE

Photo credit goes to the interwebs.

Once in Whittier we will board one of Phillips Cruises boats and head out exploring the Prince William Sound!

After an afternoon of oohs and ahs, supper at the Swiftwater Seafood Cafe will be just the ticket!
