Take Me Away

Sneak in and take me away for I have lived long enough in this place of lonely long shadows. Where my days are spent in restless slumber drifting from one dream to the next without a thought or the will to care.

Open quietly the door to the new.  A new place filled with sunshine, summer breezes and bees that buzz from one clover flower to the next.

Sneak in and render my heart a new.  Carry me away.  Warm my heart with your rays and light my days with your love.

Sneak in and take me away.

Fly

A young girl once spent her days living among the fireflies and on warm summer evenings she would play under the light of the moon.

A breeze would blow in new adventures.  The wheat rippled, swayed and rocked under this silvery light igniting her imagination.

Laying on the grass looking up at the stars, and watching the fireflies dance she dreamed that she too could fly.

Our Walk to Alaska Coffee Roasters Yesterday

~ Ice Road Truckers ~
~ Mocha Dans' Coffe & Ice-cream ~

Bear and I walked to Alaska Coffee Roasters yesterday among the slush and slop.  School was closed for the both of us and we needed a little outing. We have these fancy traction devices for our boots, they worked great on the icy path.  It was a fun outing on a stormy rainy day in November.

Rain, sleet nor snow stops these guys from delivering!

Beautiful Sunset

There is a long shadow across the sky at the left of this photo.
As the sun was setting, at just the right angle,
Mt. McKinley ~ Denali ~ cast a shadow on the clouds.

Beautiful Sunset!

Today's Weather

Today's weather is actually not so nice. During the night the clouds moved in and covered the moon.  These clouds are heavy with moisture and at 32 degrees Fahrenheit it is raining and not snowing.

I live about three miles from work and it took 20 minutes to get here this morning.  Crazy warm day.

-FZRA BR  (light freezing rain, mist)

Drive carefully and only leave the house if you must!

Long and Short

The long and short of the day run me out of time.  No time to do. No time to see.  The only sliver of light in this long day flickers into my world then quickly fades into the darkness.

Snow laden clouds move across the sky and diminish my view into falling flakes.  The long day has a short end, and in a nanosecond there is no time left, no light of day to guide my way and the long night begins.

2010 Physics Competition ~ Team 179

The oldest son is part of team 179 and above is page two of their competition paper.

Click on the photo to enlarge and have a clearer view of the page.

The University Physics Competition is an international contest for undergraduate students, who will work in teams of three at their home colleges and universities all over the world, and spend a weekend in November, 48 hours, analyzing a real-world scenario using the principles of physics, and writing a formal paper describing their work.

Problem A.  Aerobraking a Space Probe at Neptune:

In order to enter a circular orbit around another planet, a spacecraft must change its trajectory upon arrival; otherwise it will fly past the planet.  If this trajectory change is done with a rocket engine alone, the fuel required for this can contribute significantly to the cost of the mission.  However, if the spacecraft’s trajectory carries it through the atmosphere of the planet, then the resulting drag can significantly reduce the amount of fuel required.  Consider a 2,500 kg spacecraft to be sent to the planet Neptune, arriving at a speed of 30 km/s.  How much margin of error would be allowed in designing a trajectory through the outer atmosphere of Neptune which would save a significant amount of fuel?

Fill Me Up

Fill me up with your love.

Overflow me to the brim with
compassion and your gentle touch.

Smooth all the rough edges of my
tattered nerves.

Till I am faultless in your eyes.

Hold me.

Love me.

Cherish me.

Out All Night

It is the weather that keeps you out all night, and away from me.  All the sky clouded in white flakes that gather into storms and blind you from your path home.

It is the weather that takes you away from your warm bed and comfortable sleep.  All the world around us hidden from sight among the gales and waves that conceal you from me.  Ride the waves, wipe away the flakes and find your way home.

Dreaming of castles and a land abroad. Yet we can be inspired by our average every day surroundings. Whether you have been where you are now one day or a million, look around and see life in all its glory and goodness.

Linger

Love comes quickly in the hour of need.  Your heart ascends to the fever of the flames.  Loves need will be fulfilled, all cost to the wind will be thrown.

When the wheat is bundled to dry in the Autumn wind, the harvest is gathered and winters stores be cached, let your love cool not. May it's heat remain even into the dark of winters night.  Tempered only under his satisfying embrace.

Love comes quickly to those in need and stays a lifetime for those who love with a pure heart.

Long linger loves true kiss.

Happy People

Happy people are just the most irritating type of people to those who's dreams have been torn to the seams.  They laugh and joke, those happy people, not knowing that each joyful tone sends daggers through the heart of the wounded.  Smiling and giggling, everything cherry and bright.  Everything so full of sticky sweet, clogging and suffocating love.

To those who suffer the pains of the heart know that this too shall pass.  The wound may never completely heal but there will come a time when someone will enter your life and restore your spirit.  You too will be one of those happy people.

The Fight for Women's Suffrage

On Election Day in 1920, millions of American women exercised their right to vote for the first time. It took activists and reformers nearly 100 years to win that right, and the campaign was not easy: Disagreements over strategy threatened to cripple the movement more than once. But on August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was finally ratified, enfranchising all American women and declaring for the first time that they, like men, deserve all the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

All

All the words left unspoken.
All those things we wish we would have said.

Never be left behind.  Never feel the regret.

The Way

There is a light that radiates from above, guiding us onto greatness.  There is a spark of hope that emits from our hearts, binding us in love.  There is an illumination that shines from our souls, steadfast and constant showing us the way.

There is within us all, the power, and the love to obtain greatness.
