Things to Remember

Your Home:
  • Clean and everything will look and feel better
  • Wait a few days on every decision but DON'T change your mind once you've made it. You will never get anywhere doing that
  • A small change such as flowers, or a new plant will makes a big difference, and cost very little.
  • Don't try to copy anyone else's style, work with what your gut it telling you, or you won't like it down the road.
  • Order in your life helps you keeps your sanity.
  • Less toys, furniture, clothing, and stuff is always better.. Keep a SIMPLE house, get rid of stuff constantly. Or better yet, don't buy it!

Personal:
  • Exercise clears your mind, regulates your appetite and helps you sleep better and look better. Do it.
  • Sugar does the opposite.
  • Don't compare yourself with others.
  • Live within your means, people should always come first, not money. Always have a comfortable stash of money. Do not purchase stuff beyond your financial limits. The stuff will never make you feel better than having a financial cushion does.
  • Your children need you to be happy, secure, calm and unstressed. Not popular, skinny, well-dressed and rich. Don't be tempted by the status quo.
  • MYOB (mind your own business) if you get so involved in friend's relatives problems, you use energy thinking about/judging something you can't change. Spend your mental energy elsewhere.
  • Extended family is important but to much closeness is sometimes overplayed. Do what's best for YOUR immediate family. Don't be pressured. Stick together.
  • Always have a good book to read.
  • Always plan ahead for birthdays and Christmas so you can enjoy them.
  • Remember that you are a much better person when your calendar is empty.
School:
  • The kids will grow up smart and literate...NO school is perfect and the little things probably don't really matter. Don't get caught up in them. Look at the big picture.
  • Support the kids school. Do NOT talk bad or criticize the school or teachers in front of the kids...look at hurdles and hardships with teacher's/friends as excellent learning experiences for them.
  • DO NOT sign up for more than ONE thing in a school year
Family:
  • Keep a routine, especially in the morning and on weekends.
  • To change child's behavior use HUGS, KISSES, COMPLIMENTS it makes them feel good about the RIGHT behavior. Give extra attention, slow down, play with them.
  • Go out with the husband/wife at least every other weekend.
  • Take time one-on-one with the kids.
  • Have confidence that you are doing it right.
