The Benny Sammy ~ runny egg, Canadian bacon, hollandaise aioli, microgreens, house-made English muffin, with potato hash
Shakshuka ~ two runny eggs, smoky tomato sauce, crumbled goat cheese, fresh herbs, couscous
Did I mention the micro-greens from Fresh 365?! A heavenly treat at the end of winter.

Adventure Time with Kenny & Karie
Turnagain Arm and Beluga Point.
Sterling Highway Kenai Peninsula at the start of a snow storm.
Driving through Turnagain Pass.
Adventure time with Kenny and Karie found us on a weekend trip to Soldotna. We drove down Turnagain Arm on a very windy day, and rounded the corner to the Kenai Peninsula at the start of a snow storm.
Kenny is an accomplished winter driver and kept us on the road, and safely delivered us to the roadside town of Soldotna. Where we had large plans to eat our way through the weekend.
First stop Kenai River Brewing Co.

Sightseeing Tours
The photo above is highlighting the travel adventures of an item I have recently purchased. The manufacturing plant is in Tempe Arizona, and on March 4th they packaged up my item to be shipped north to Alaska.
I am fairly certain this package took a truck ride from Tempe Arizona to Bell California, and then switched trucks and traveled to Ontario California. From there this happy little package has boarded a flight to Louisville Kentucky.
I wonder where it will go next. Does anyone want to wager a guess? If so, you might want to know that another recently ordered item took a two-week sightseeing tour of Jersey City New Jersey. By the time it arrived in Anchor-town Alaska, it looked like it had attended every carnival in the Jersey City area, and rode all the rides until it was green around the gills.
Luckily, the item inside the package was safe in a plastic wrap and only suffered a minor crinkle in the top left corner. Let us hope this newly shipped item is not out touring for as long, arrives intact, and unharmed.
I will keep you posted.

Iditarod 2019
Saturday was spent watching the (ceremonial) start of the Iditarod 2019. The mushers and their dogs got to show off their skills and their joy of the sport to the eager crowds in Anchor-town. On Sunday they started again at Willow, all packed up for the 998 mile trail to Nome.
The dogs were all smiles and put on a good show for the crowds.
They sure do love this sport and even more they love to run!
All the mushers gladly connected with the well-wishing hands of the kids along the trail.
Pro-tip: if you get thirsty on the trail be a snow eater, scoop up some snow and keep running!
Have a happy day! Remember to always put your best foot forward with a smile on your face and a skip in your step. And if you are ever in doubt just keep moving on down the trail.
Best of luck to the mushers and their teams! May they all have a safe race to Nome!

Winner Creek Winter Day Hike
We took a wonderful winter day hike along Winner Creek trail in Girdwood Alaska. Hiking companions included our son Drew, our daughter Colleen, and friends Mitchell and Sarah. Our son Bear was in town also but he was working this day.
The famous Butt Knot Tree!
It was a fabulous day of Shinrin-yoku with good company on a beautiful end of winter day.
