Family Time = Love

London and his Lego family creations, very creative way to represent all of us.

Family time always makes my heart smile.

Grab your camera and take three group photos (for good measure to make sure there is one everyone likes) and one photo with goofy faces.  It is a sure way to get the kids to play along.

Grandma Wink

As you might have guessed we celebrate birthdays even after someone has left our lives for the next.  It is our way to keep a dear loved one close to our hearts and remember all the best of times spent  together. Happy day of your birth Grandma Wink. You and your twin Walter.

Share the love every day with those you love.

May your Monday be a pleasant start to the week.

Airport Shenanigans

One of the positive aspects of the late night and red-eye flights is that some airports afford the opportunity for shenanigans. When you have time to kill you can ride the Sea-Tac subway tram around the circle more than twice.

Enjoy your weekend my friends and always look for fun in those unlikely places.

Things to Remember to tell the Boys

Things to Remember to tell the Boys...

Dish soap cleans everything. Even better than vinegar and water.

Parchment paper is a gift from the baking gods.

Living a simple life uncluttered by stuff will make you happier and wealthier.

And good music never goes out of style. Long live the beat of the Bee Gees!

Earthquake ~ 7.9

It was 12:34 am by the time I was awake enough to have the where-for-all to look at the clock. The dresser drawer handles were still rattling and the entire house was rumbling with a deep moan of distress. This quake was either going to get worse or it was going to subside at any moment. It subsided.

A brief thought crossed my mind about a tsunami warning being issued if this quake was south of us, that thought quickly passed and I fell back to sleep. Anchor-town is far enough inland at the end of the Cook Inlet that the earth would have to be crumbling at the seams for a tsunami to be large enough to reach us.

This earthquake was 24 hours and 59 minutes shy of two years ago when we felt the last large shaker, which was closer to Anchor-town and had a larger impact on our night.

This morning there was no evidence that this earthquake had triggered a tsunami and everyone has gone about their normal Tuesday morning routine.

Arizona Joy

Arizona joy is basking in the bright shine of a blooming bougainvillea.
Arizona joy is visiting Grandma G.

Seeking sunshine and joy is a goal we hold in high regard.
May your day be filled with both.

Winter Coat

Everyone is sporting their winter coats, and these two look warm and healthy. It has been a rather easy winter here in Anchor-Town but the darkness still sinks into ones bones.  Time for this solar powered woman to go get some sunshine and recharge the batteries.

Tip Tuesday ~ Water

Often we think we are hungry when we are in fact thirsty, and we think we are tired when we are dehydrated. Grab a glass of water and drink up.

Water is one thing in life where more is (in most cases) better than less.

High Five Friday for Holiday's

Holiday breaks are for lazing around and letting the lethargy sink into your bones.

Holiday breaks are for playing 'honey roulette' where one or more of the sticks of honey is jalapeno flavored ~ yuck.

Holiday breaks are for baking Danish aebleskivers!

All of us Eaters are so thankful for this Baker!   Great job Colleen!

Holiday breaks are for trying new things and tasting new flavors.

It became apparent that we were not sure if we should feel fascinated, ensnared or appalled at the taste of salmiakki. Apparently it takes a bit of time to become accustomed to the salty licorice flavor.  But according to Drew and Bear it tastes just fine in the chocolate bar.

Holiday breaks are for walks beside a winter wonderland lake as the sun sets on Christmas Day.

Holiday breaks are for making snow angels.

Group photo missing Haley as she was in Juneau for Christmas.

High five Friday for family, love, and making memories with those you love.
Have a great weekend my friends.
