Our Galapagos adventure started on San Cristobal and our first outing was to Kicker Rock (Rocher Kicker). Over the next eight days we visited Espanola, Floreana, Santa Cruz, Rabida, Santiago, and Baltra. There was even an extra afternoon adventure to Daphne Major due to a six hour aircraft delay that turned into a delightful extra afternoon on the Grace.
When the plane finally did land at the Baltra airport later that evening, the entire company of people in the small airport terminal cheered. Some of these folks had been waiting in the terminal since the morning, and most of them had missed their connecting flights from the Ecuador mainland to home. We however were in good shape as I had built in an extra day for just this type of event. We only had to let our lodging for that night know that we were going to be checking in late, and our wonderful Quasar Cruise Director, Deborah, took care of that for us.
Living in Alaska and flying in and out of the small villages, all of which have minimal flights each day, you learn a few tricks that benefit you during international travel between a mainland and an archipelago.
Keep following along as the snorkeling, hiking, sightseeing adventure is a coming up!
