Situated on the North coast of Ireland the Giant’s Causeway is an area of approximately 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption; however the legend is more convincing for those who prefer a more colorful story. Finn McCool, Ireland's legendary giant, build the causeway as a walk way to Scotland to fight his rival Scottish giant Benandonner. After Finn was finished he was so tired that Finn fell asleep before going across to Scotland and he woke up to find the Scottish giant appearing on the horizon. Finn realized Benandonner was much bigger than himself and ran to his wife Oonagh wondering what he should do. Oonagh disguised Finn as a baby and made him curl up in an enormous cradle. Benandonner saw the huge ‘child’ in the cradle and began to wonder what size his father would be. Benandonner returned to Scotland and destroyed the Causeway as he returned home.

See my hat on the ground just to the left? Yup you guessed it ~
My hat was never again seen by our eyes, and is now a home for the fish in the sea.
My gift to the Giants!
This is the most wonderful, awe-inspiring and just down right spectacular place I have ever visited. It seems small as you first approach the area and then seems to swallow you up in the stones. Definitely something giant going on here!
It was a fabulous day, warm and sunny. In fact it was down right hot and I mean hot. It was so hot that by the end of our visit here I was oh so very sweaty hot that I could not even take any more photos of the causeway. Can you believe that? Me not able to take a photo? Well believe it! It even made me pout-tee and sad that I was too hot to take any more photos... here is the proof!
