Your Home:
- Clean and everything will look and feel better
- Wait a few days on every decision but DON'T change your mind once you've made it. You will never get anywhere doing that
- A small change such as flowers, or a new plant will makes a big difference, and cost very little.
- Order in your life helps you keeps your sanity.
- Less toys, furniture, clothing, and stuff is always better.. Keep a SIMPLE house, get rid of stuff constantly. Or better yet, don't buy it!
Personal:
- Exercise clears your mind, regulates your appetite and helps you sleep better and look better. Do it.
- Sugar does the opposite.
- Don't compare yourself with others.
- Live within your means, people should always come first, not money. Always have a comfortable stash of money. Do not purchase stuff beyond your financial limits. The stuff will never make you feel better than having a financial cushion does.
- Extended family is important but to much closeness is sometimes overplayed. Do what's best for YOUR immediate family. Don't be pressured. Stick together.
- Always have a good book to read.
- Always plan ahead for birthdays and Christmas so you can enjoy them.
- Remember that you are a much better person when your calendar is empty.
School:
- The kids will grow up smart and literate...NO school is perfect and the little things probably don't really matter. Don't get caught up in them. Look at the big picture.
- Support the kids school. Do NOT talk bad or criticize the school or teachers in front of the kids...look at hurdles and hardships with teacher's/friends as excellent learning experiences for them.
- DO NOT sign up for more than ONE thing in a school year
Family:
- Keep a routine, especially in the morning and on weekends.
- To change child's behavior use HUGS, KISSES, COMPLIMENTS it makes them feel good about the RIGHT behavior. Give extra attention, slow down, play with them.
- Go out with the husband/wife at least every other weekend.
- Take time one-on-one with the kids.
- Have confidence that you are doing it right.
