Peace on Earth and good will to man, and animals, and plants, and well...peace to all living creatures. There are many aspects of life that each person gravitates to as a focus, as a cause, and if we put them all together and support one another humanity would be well on its way to the next step in a better life for the future generations.
Peace on earth to all creatures even the farm animals that are our food raised for consumption. I enjoyed a post from Living Cruelty-Free about
Cedar Run Farm and the message it sends about how we each can support local, small farms and the families that run them.
If you have the option to purchase local raised foods from your area farmers or farmers market it will be money well spent.

Thank you, Julia, for not only reading a couple of my posts, but for also noting the careful and conscious life choices we must be willing to make to ensure peace for all creatures. These decisions can be costly, whether to our finances, our time, or our convenience. While I have given up eating meat, for example, George has not, so I purchase meat that I believe is as humanely-raised as possible. In addition, George has cut down on his meat consumption to two or three times per week (thank you George). It takes determination, planning, and sometimes sacrifice, but it is possible to live cruelty-free.
I also loved your post on simplicity and living with less. My goal for the winter is to get rid of a third of our "stuff." Freecycle is great for this -- don't want an old lawnmower? I guarantee that it will be gone in a weekend if advertised on freecycle (where you advertise something you don't want on-line and someone who wants it picks it up for free). I remember our conversation while on the Grace about your only purchasing something new if you have something old to get rid of -- what a great idea, and one that I have been trying to live by since then! Thank you!
Thanks Terry. We do some Freecycle but not sure they have organized here overly so. Craigslist and Alaska List seem to be the go to places here. The University of Alaska Fairbanks organizes a weekend of Freecycle in the fall and spring and as each community chooses a way to partake the possibilities are endless.
